Is there a way to get to the guys in the garage without taking damage?
I jumped over the fire left of the Throne Group van and lost hp in the process, naturally. There is a fire extinguisher inside their room, but even with that one I could only extinguish 4 fires while a couple more remain, blocking some shortcuts. So I'm guessing there was another extinguisher I missed which would let me get to them and take out all the fires.
Btw, having to maintain a constant stream or the fire 'regenerates' is a really bad mechanic. I didn't know it worked like that so I wasted water and had to load. Seeing how it's impossible to reload the fire ex, wasting water can just cause some fires to remain in the game forever.
Don't get me wrong, I really love the game. I'm way past the fires now, finished the caverns under the broken elevator, and I've never seen another fire ex, so it's bugging me :D Having a lot of fun playing otherwise.
As a "the c64 mini/maxi" owner you might ask yourself:
Why should I get it if i allready have it?
Answer:
Because it is a totally different and much, MUCH better experience! The 2016 version included on "the c64" is much harder to control and can get unfair to the point where you can't get "back in business" by grinding for loot.
With this version it is still challenging but not impossible.
The updates that where made to improve the controls result in better aiming, less waste of ammunition (by accidentally shooting to the floor while ducking), better rolling under fire hazards and better hand-to-hand combat (best way to get rid of the ball-like drones at the beginning of the game... Dont waste your ammo!)
One little, tiny downer is the fact that, at least with my "the c64 mini" and "maxi", the save feature of the cartridge-version does not work. It is no big deal cause you can use the save feature that is integrated in "the c64" or use the disk image, where the save feature works flawlessly!
Long story short:
Great game, great presentation, great music, great artwork.
Masterpiece!
Buy it!
... Is it just me or does kim look like a partially bald version of ian? Or a bit like hulk hogan? xD nitpicking on one or two pixels cause there is nothing bad to say about this gem!
Wish I had found this before - great game I had not played until yesterday.
This is my tribute...
I just picked this up along with the Metal Warriors games and Steel Ranger. They all look great!
Wow! Great game. I have to try the other game made by Lasse Öörni.
The Map is missing in the Zip-File.
It should be there now
This is certainly on the retro side of action.
Wow, can you release a demo. I'd love try something like this in an emulator.
This is just Fantastic!!!!! It´s amazing to see new games for this great home computer! Congratulations!
