The included soundtrack allone is worth the price! The game is 99.9% cool. The last 0.1% could be achieved if it had a support for jumping on a second button... I realy don't like it when jumping and climbing is joystick-up... But maybe this would make the game to easy...

Anyways... Great game! Great Music! Great Art!

BUY IT!

There is now also a longplay of this game starting at 05:24:26. 🙂

Very nice and extensive game reminiscent of Impossible Mission, Saboteur and the Metal Warrior series. The level of difficulty is also quite fair. Our German-language review can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 00:15:37. Subscription to our YouTube or Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂

I completed the game last night. My play time was around an hour and twenty minutes. I had to do a little back tracking as I missed some pick-ups required to complete the game. Overall, it's fantastic.

The controls are snappy with directional shooting mechanics that make sense. The graphic style is appealing with an almost coloured monochromatic look if that makes sense. Enemies don't get lost in the backgrounds. The difficulty level is well balanced. The always present map is clear and helpful without making the play area feel small. Any major backtracking I had to do was my fault due to forgetting to go back and collect things that were clearly marked on the map.

I am not a metroidvania fan and while this could be seen as one to a degree, it is not the type of game you are going to find yourself wandering around aimlessy looking for one little thing you've missed to enable progression.

The only issues I had with the game were that sometimes I'd not quite be in the right spot to get on a ladder resulting in getting hit by an enemy and occasionally enemies would spawn in places where they were impossible to avoid. Health and invincibility pick-ups were well placed though so these issues were somewhat negated.

Absolutely worth the few dollars they're asking for it and probably one of the least frustrating C64 games I've played recently. It still feels like a C64 game, but there's a modernity to how under control it all feels as well.

Game Of The Year Candidate!

(the usual) icon64 stuff. 6.8/10

Hello!

I bought and played this fantastic game just 4 hours ago!

I was more excited than Destiny on PS4! The music is EXCELLENT!

The overall effect is PERFECT!

Thanks again!

Really good game too, the C64 community is going strong. Thanks for the good games. I also added this to my New Games On C64 video from March 2024.

Excellent game. Haven't finished it yet (haha, yes I suck!) but really enjoying it. Love the short, but banging soundtrack too!

Excellent game, and here's my longplay.

Thanks for another cool new game the good old breadbin. Looks fun, will try soon. Keep up the good work!

But, this brand new game is another in a way too long row of C64 games that are silent apart from the soundtrack. Why no SFX? They usually enhance the overall gaming experience, making it more immersive, I'd say. Sam's Journey did it quite well for instance. Of course maybe it's just me and most C64 gamers like those games that way. And I should add that I've got no coding skills so maybe I don't actually know what I'm talking about. Only persoonal oppinion here and no offense intended of course!

Hi, the game has sound effects. You can select them from the title screen by tapping down on the joystick.

dont hesitate, buy it 👍

Why not a free demo ?

It's $4 ffs, you probably spend more on a takeout coffee. Making a demo also takes away time from you know, finishing the game. I could understand if the game cost $20 but not here.

When entering this board from the left side, we are frozen for some time. I can't move or shoot for a few seconds. Tested on the latest Vice for Win64 and on Vice for Android phone.

nice find, seems to be a random occurrence in that room only, pressing up or down seems to fix it - we’ll get that sorted and upload a new version, cheers.

I completed the game and never saw it so indeed must be a random occurrence.

This happens every time on this board, it's more related to the positioning of the ladder. It is possible that this is the only such board in the entire game. On similar screens, there is a noticeable clipping of movement when entering from the left. But this is where we often get blocked...

Another excellent game - Thank you :)

Da hat Icon64 wieder ein tolles Games entwickelt. Meine absolute Empfehlung! 🕹

Auf meinem YouTube Kanal habe ich es im Rahmen der C64 Spielzeit vorgestellt. Schaut doch mal vorbei:
